The London CoC selects Sensor IT for the Ethiopia Energy Catalyst Mission

Established in 2013, the Energy Catalyst programme supports UK-based businesses to develop innovative, market-focused energy technologies. The programme enabled them to commercialise sustainable energy solutions faster than they normally would. Energy sustainability is based on pillars of the energy trilemma – low cost, low carbon and secure supply. Sensor IT was selected to get involved in the mission, with 16 other participants, after a UK-wide competitive process run by the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF). This GCRF-led too project into account the value proposition the company could offer to the mission, which took place from July 14th-July 18th of 2019, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The mission involved several high-level presentations with government officials, such as the Ethiopian Minister for Water, Irrigation and Energy (MOWIE) and the Ethiopian Energy Authority (EEA), amongst others. The mission was designed to be a preparation for the Innovate UK Energy Catalyst Round 7, assisting companies to establish a commercial relationship in emerging economies to enable them to participate in the funding competition.

Sensor IT at the IPIEC Global Innovation Competition

The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) is supporting upcoming technology/innovation entrepreneurship through a competition, which took place during London Tech Week on Wednesday June 12th 2019, at the Royal Albert Dock. Sensor IT was shortlisted to pitch our Bicycle Safety Device with a chance to gain a place in the final, due to take place in China later in the year. Regardless of the outcome, for us at Sensor IT it means gaining recognition to our work and dedication, and hopefully there will be more to come.

Sensor IT presents a Bicycle safety prototype

Sensor IT was invited to a ‘speed-dating’ session with Highways England in which we presented our bicycle safety device to Highways UK for their 2018 Intelligent Infrastructure Challenge. Highways UK is a key event for the people and organisations involved in the planning, designing, building, operating and future-proofing of the UK’s road network. This was a great opportunity to integrate our prototype with Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) and Connected Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) ecosystems. For more information, contact Richard Gonzalez, Sensor IT UK Director, at richardg@sensorit.co.uk.
